Recession: A Time to Save?

“There was no food, however, in the whole region because the famine was severe; both Egypt and Canaan wasted away because of the famine. Joseph collected all the money that was to be found in Egypt and Canaan in payment for the grain they were buying, and he brought it to Pharaoh’s palace. When the money of the people of Egypt and Canaan was gone, all Egypt came to Joseph and said, ‘Give us food. Why should we die before your eyes? Our money is used up.’” Genesis 47:13-15 NIV.

“Crisis” is what some have called it. A country on the verge of facing the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression. The value of the American Dollar has significantly gone down, and so has the confidence of American consumerism. Small businesses face bankruptcy, home owners face foreclosure, and individuals face heaps of debt in which the interest alone is more than they can afford. Yet, with a great “crisis” at hand, it is important that we understand the spiritual significance and opportunity that God, in His sovereignty, has presented us!

It’s time for our Winter Workshop!

Our church will be attending the Winter Workshop this weekend on O’ahu.

The workshop will be hosted by our sister church, the Honolulu International Christian Church.

The Honolulu church is led by our former leaders, Kyle and Joan Bartholomew.
